Capital City Dragon Boat Race
May 20th at 8 am to May 21st
5pm Hawk Island Park
The Capital City Dragon Boat Race is back again, and we're racing in May this year! Join us on May 20th (practice day) and May 21st (race day) for our annual fundraiser in support of the Women's Center of Greater Lansing. Taking place at Hawk Island Park, spectators will be able to watch the entire race!
Come to learn about the history of Dragon Boating, Chinese culture, support cancer survivors, and raise money for the Women's Center of Greater Lansing.
This event is kid and family friendly!
The 1st Annual REO Town Pub Prom
May 20th at 8:00 pm until 2 am
Relive the magic of your formative years with spiked punch, a DJ spinning the last several decades' most sentimental slow jams, commemorative keepsakes, and more! Dress to impress, as we'll be crowning this year's prom king and queen at midnight!
Admission is free and open to anyone over 21, but a $5 donation to the REO Town Commercial Association is suggested. See you there!
East Lansing Art Festival
May 20th, 10 am until 6 pm and May 21st 10 am until 5 pm; * pm to May 21st
Downtown East Lansing
The East Lansing Art Festival has arrived to town. This event features art exhibitors, three live music stages, make and take art, activities, live artist demos, poetry readings, theatrical readings and an international-style food court, all in downtown East Lansing.
The 5:01 is looking for guest bloggers to share their experiences on the benefits of living, working and playing in the greater Lansing area.
